FLSmidth continues to benefit from the upturn in the Brazilian cement market. In addition to the projects FLSmidth is already undertaking in Brazil, the company has received two new orders – a 3,300-tpd line and an OK-33 vertical roller mill.
Companhia De Cimento Da Paraíba ordered the line based on the success of its FLSmidth plant at Sete Lagoas, which has operated well above expected capacity. The scope of supply includes all major equipment, engineering services, project management and commissioning of their greenfield project, the Pitimbu Plant, in Brazil’s Paraíba state.
The second contract is from Cia. De Cimento Itambé and consists of a vertical roller mill for cement grinding to be installed at their Balsa Nova Plant located in Brazil’s Paraná state. This marks the 19th OK mill sold in the country.
“We are very happy about the sustained leadership of the FLSmidth OK mill on the Brazilian market and the continued partnership with our Brazilian customers,” said Per Mejnert Kristensen, president, cement division of FLSmidth. “A close relationship with our customers is also important in relation to product and technology development and as part of the constant efforts to expand our position as supplier of the best available technology and trustworthy partner.”
With the signing of these contracts, FLSmidth further increases its visibility in the region at a time of continued investments.
